As well as providing supports in the community and individuals homes, we offer a Respite service. Our Respite is a purpose built home available to families and carers that need a break. Some of our Respite staff have been working well over a decade in the home. They provide a positive, safe, and family-like environment for your loved one whilst working alongside participants to achieve their NDIS goals.
The Respite house is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for approximately 50 weeks of the year including all public holidays if the need arises.
Fees are charged as per the NDIS price guide (see below). Our Respite coordinator can organise a quote before you come and visit.
Any participant with the appropriate funding can access Respite. This funding sits within your CORE support of your NDIS plan. If you’re unsure, you can speak to either your Support Coordinator or your LAC.
Alternatively this can be paid by other means, for example full fee and Carer Gateway.
All participants must fill out a Respite stay package before arrival. This includes your client file, updated medical care plans and any other relevant documentation. This is to ensure a comfortable stay.
Our Coordinator can arrange transportation outside the Ingham area. We go as far as Townsville and up to Tully to pick up our participants. Travel outside the Hinchinbrook area does come at an additional cost and a quote can be provided on request.
Your Respite fee covers everything from your accommodation, meals, travel within the district and negotiated activities.
You are most welcome to contact Lifelong Supports or arrange for your support coordinator to make contact.
You can book as far in advance as you like and we often encourage this as we do book out, especially on weekends and during the school holidays.
Alternatively, you can send an email directly to our coordinator at [email protected]
Before your stay you can organise a time with our Respite Coordinator to visit the accommodation and sit down to arrange the finer details whether it be at the Respite house or a planned trip away.
If it is pre-organised with the Respite coordinator, we can facilitate a visit between family and friends either at the Respite accommodation or out in the community.

Unfortunately yes, if there are already participants booked in at the time requested that will not be appropriate for the participant, we will suggest other dates that may work better. Participant’s safety is our top priority.
